Who are we? What do we do? What dreams are we targeting you ask...
Targeting A Dream was founded in February, 2005 and was formally incorporated on March 10, 2005. I founded this organization because of my dream of equality. I, in my early years, had utopian dreams. For that reason, I have put forth my greatest efforts to see that not only my dreams, but that the dreams of everyone in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community, become possible. Targeting A Dream exists to raise public awareness of LGBT community issues through the provision of grants, scholarships, and community education for nonprofit organizations and individuals who provide services, advocacy, or leadership in the LGBT community.
In our effort to enhance and strengthen future leaders and activists in our community, we provide scholarships to students who are recognized as the light we carry out into the world. These students stand strong in the face of oppression, ostracism, and harassment. If not for their strength and our support, their words may never be heard. We also continue to educate and re-educate our community for sustained progress. We have implemented a community education program to instill diversity, transformation, and a sense of purpose in the Baltimore/Washington, DC metropolitan region.
